So, you know that you want to fix your iPod or iPhone, but you're not sure which generation iPod or iPhone you have? The information below will help you determine the model of your iPod or iPhone. After you have determined the model, click on the name of the model below or in the menu to the left. 3GS iPhone is available in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Visually the 3GS and 3G models look identical. The biggest difference between the 3GS and the 3G is that the 3GS has video recording capability while the 3G does not. The 3GS comes in black and white.

3G iPhone is available in 8GB or 16GB capacities. The biggest difference between the 3G iPhone and the previous model is that the 3G has GPS abilities while the 1st Generation model does not. It has a plastic back case.

2G iPhone (or 1st Generation iPhone) is available in 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities. It has an aluminum back case.

2nd Generation iPod Touch features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities. It can be distinguished from previous iPod Touch models by its contoured design and oval shaped antennae cover in the back upper left corner.

1st Generation iPod Touch (or iTouch) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and comes in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities.

2nd Generation iPod Mini is available in 4GB or 6GB capacity, has a monochrome display and hold switch on the top-left side. It can be distinguished from the original iPod mini by the hard drive size engraved on the back of the unit. Comes in four colors.

iPhone Models iPhone Models  

iPod 4th Generation Nano is available in 8GB, or 16GB capacity. It can be distinguished from previous iPod Nano models by its taller screen, curved surface, and oval shape when seen from the top. Comes in nine colors.

iPod 3rd Generation Nano is available in 4GB, or 8GB capacity. It can be distinguished from previous iPod Nano models by its wider screen and its ability to play video. Comes in six colors.

iPod 2nd Generation Nano is smaller than iPod mini and has a color screen and a Click Wheel but has flash memory instead of a hard drive. Comes in many colors and the headphones port is located on the bottom of the unit. Comes in five colors.

1st Generation iPod Nano is smaller than iPod mini and has a color screen and a Click Wheel but has flash memory instead of a hard drive. Comes in white or black.

iPod Classic (or 6th Generation iPod) is available in 80GB or 160GB capacities. It features a click wheel and diplays photos and videos. It uses USB for syncing and is available in silver and black and has an aluminum and polished stainless steel enclosure.

iPod Video (or 5th Generation iPod) has a large, widescreen color display, a click wheel and the capability of displaying photos and videos. It uses USB for syncing. Comes in white or black.

iPod Color (or 4th Generation Color iPod) is the same as the 4th Gen iPod, but has a full-color display.

4th Gen iPod has a click wheel and has a hold switch on the top right side. It has a monochrome display.

3rd Gen iPod has a dock connector and touch wheel instead of a click wheel. There are four control buttons above the touch wheel.

2nd Gen iPod has a touch wheel similar to the scroll wheel, but the wheel itself does not turn. This model has a FIreWire port cover.

1st Gen iPod has a scroll wheel that physically turns and the controls are in a circle around the wheel.
